Handwritten 2 page letter from Mother to Marcia Bruner, Lawrence Bruner, and all, "I will now answer your kind letters…"

West Point Jan 31st 1897.
Dear Marcia, Lawrence and all.
I will now answer your kind letter, we were indeed surprised at the contents of your letter; and just think yet, that it can scarcely be true. Hudson can't forget it, he too thinks the man must have been out of his mind. I feel so sorry for his wife and children, what can any one think to do such a thing!

We are haveing [sic] such terrible cold weather, but I suppose it is best to be cold in winter.

I am so well this winter so far, had no cold or any thing to complain of. I weigh more than I ever weighed. 185 lbs. And all my clothes are getting too small.

Aunt Rillie's family is well. All our folks are well too.

Lillie expects to go to Lincoln before long to stay a week or two. I wish I had little Alice here a little while every day.

She must be cute. I suppose Psyche and Helen, both go to school when not too cold.

I am doing quite a bit of sewing these days, making over, and making new things for every day wear, so when spring comes they will be ready. Mr. Peter's expect to move to Omaha next May. Mr. Reed's will soon move to Omaha. They are liveing [sic] in Bloomfield at present, she and Grace Dillon (her sister) had been in West Point ever since before Christmas, Mr. Reed went home last week, I guess she must have had a good time. Tell Seba I'm ever so much obliged to her for the picture of herself and Helen, it is a very good picture. News there is none in West Point just now.

I must soon stop  writing as I can't think of any thing more to say. My love to all, write whenever you can,
Yours with love
Mother
