Dear Lawrence.
Everything is the same as it was when you left. It rained all day yesterday, cleared off in the evening, and last night a big thunder storm came up, it hailed some, which made me determine that I would have the screen windows put on today even if Eliza does not get the windows cleaned.
The man is here at work this morning. I hope he will get the yard cleaned before it rains again. The man also came to clean the cistern. He said he felt highly humored that he could clean your cistern and would have that as a reccomend [sic].
The day you left Ella felt better in the morning and got
to acting funny which made me forget for awhile. The children run happy but tired of school. Baby sat up in bed last night and called pa-pa at the top of her voice. When the girls ask where you are she turns towards the door and looks anxious. No one has been here yet and I feel as if I never wanted to see anyone I ever know again. It is going to be hard for me to start art again.
The furnace is booming this morning because the wind is from west I suppose.
It has been such a short time since you left there is not much to write about. You will find letters waiting from me when you get to Buenos Ayres [sic] so I will close, wishing you a safe and happy voyage.
Your loving wife,
Marcia Bruner
