SIXTH MEETING
Regents met in the State House, February 28th, 1871.
On motion was Regent Chase, a Committee was appointed to ascertain what action, if any, is necessary in order to secure the seventy-two sections (72) of land for the University, and the Congressional grant of ninety thousand (90,000) acres for the Agriculture College.
The Committee reported that the grant for seventy-two sections was complete, but that an additional act of Congress was necessary to entitle the State to the ninety thousand acres.
A joint resolution was ordered to be drafted for presentation to the Legislature, asking of Congress such an act.
On motion of Regent Olinger, a Committee was appointed to arrange for selecting a model farm.
