In a response to a resolution passed, the Governor made the following report:
Lincoln, December 23rd, 1870.
To the Honorable Board of Regents:
GENTLEMEN:- In response to your resolution passed to-day, I submit the following:
            The amount of University Funds now on hands is $26,431.23.
            Amount of taxable property in the State amounts to $53,000,000 from which an additional fund will be derived amounting to $53,000.
            Total amount of funds available during coming year, $79,431.23
            The General Government has donated for University purposes, 46,080 acres. For Agricultural College, 90,000 acres. These latter lands are now being selected.
