Yellow Book
Journal Brief
YEAR: 2013
START DATE: April 30, 2013
END DATE: August 18, 2013
The 2013 yellow and orange books were done at approximately the same time. I don’t remember why I did this. One or the other must have been started with a specific usage in mind. One may have been intended as a mantram book, the other to work out ideas for some editorials I was writing at that time. Standing in awe rather than analyzing. Musings on Will Richey and DaVerse Lounge. Barbara Boster Phillips - my soul sister - was in end stages of cancer. She dies on July 4 of this year. Many mantrams for Barbara. Jeff Marxen (from my childhood) fell on the stairs, broke his neck and died. Beginning of a couple of years of corporate guys on our board of directors. My cousin Matt Asche’s death in Columbus, NE. The grace in Matt’s death - and life. Meditation on “Everything is changing.” Wonder at the miracle in every moment. Flat out grief at Barbara’s dire situation. Saying goodbye to Barbara Boster Phillips. (She was my illustration agent when she lived in Dallas and became a soul sister.) Unexpected depth of grieving as she was dying in Seattle and I could no longer talk with her or see her. Releasing her to the great mystery. July 4, 2013 and she is finally free and at peace. On the Fourth of July of course. She who never did anything undramatically. :-) More episodes of the Reluctant But Obedient Servant journals as I prepare the undertaking of the Dallas LOVE Project in earnest. Another bad board meeting. Prayers and mantrams for Tania Boster (Barbara’s daughter), Alan Phillips, Jason Reynolds and others. Beautiful flying dream.
Beginning of plans for The Dallas LOVE Project. Trip to Nebraska for Matt Asche’s funeral. Barbara Boster-Phillip’s fight with cancer and her eventual death were top of mind. Travel to Ireland with Shelley.
Same as life events pretty much. My flat-out grief over Barbara’s illness and death and concern for her daughter, Tania, overshadowed everything.
Plans for the Dallas LOVE Project. Beginning of trainings, scouting for installation venues, press possibilities, kick-off party. Move to Southside on Lamar for the project.
