Title
SUSPEND SIX UNI. STUDENTS
Date

Description
This article sheds some more light on the Beer Apartment Raid. Note the mention of the "bootlegger" who left the apartment right before the raid. Also, note that the students said they were treated "squarely" after their meeting with Dean Thompson. There is no mention whether Hokuf believed he was treated squarely.

ports published by some newspapers relative to the finding in the apartment of a suitcase especially fitted up for bootlegging purposes were absolutely untrue. There was a suitcase found there, the detective said but it was an ordinary piece of luggage.

Police Passed Bootlegger.

The six students were called into the dean's office one at a time Wednesday morning. Those questioned as they left the "conference," said that they had been treated squarely.

In discussing the raid, on of the quintet arrested said that a bootlegger, whom he had summoned to the apartment, arrived with the alcohol, and passed the raiding officers outside of the building. This student declared that the alcohol was taken to Omaha, where a number of students were planning a party for Saturday night.

The five taken in the raid are to appear in the court of Justice of the Peace Maggi at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon to answer to a joint complain [sic] charging illegal possession of liquor. No charge has been filed filed [sic] against Hokuf, who rented the apartment with one of the five arrested there.
