Dear Wolcott:
I have only a minute to devote to litterature now, but I wish to
once more reiterate again what I have already said before, the former
assertion previously made having been that I can not come down to spend
Sunday, the point being that I am to leave for the faw faw distant West
early next week, and positively must have the day to straighten out a
lot of personal and N.O.U. correspondence and other things. I can not
put any more into the evenings than I am doing; I worked in our printing
office until midnight last night and the chances are bully for doing it
also likewise the same
~again~ tonight.
Will write you Sunday if not earlier. Very much disappointed to
find it necessary to give up the Lincoln trip, I assure you.
Say, what on earth are you doing with - - I thought you just cut
them up and were decent about it. Embalming is wulgar, Robert.
Sadly,
FHS
P.M. (post mortem) - Is that there embalming
taught in the medical school on the theory
that you should not start anything you can not
finish?
