Omaha, May 28, 1906.
Dear Wolcott:
I came away from Lincoln without a copy of the list of birds observed
by our party on the Salt Basin. At your convenience please give
me the names - abbreviated as you like, for I shall transcribe the list.
This morning starts out more favorably that yesterday! Egad, what
a day was that!
Cic. larva and parasite doing well, thank you, - parasite doing
better than the larva, in fact, - regaardless of which I must add that
the parasite seems to be doing the larva, good.
Say, I did one of two things, among others, on Sunday. I ither put
a $5 bill in the watch-pocket of my coat, in which event the bill afore-
said kicketh about ye county of Lancaster or some of its neighbors; or
I ither placed in ye pocket of ye vest which I borrowed from you, in
which event it may be there. If you find it don't trouble to send it to
me; just hang on until I see you. I do not think you will find it, as I
favor the coat-pocket theory.
Weather really does not count for much in Lincoln; I look back on
a trip there with equal pleasure, whether I have been well treated or
frozen or drowned.
I hope you will have warm weather at the Forest Reserve. Today is
chilly but promising here.
With best wishes to you and Mrs. W., and apologies to Allen for
not seeing his rabbits, I remain
Yours truly,
