The great football game with Kansas, billed for November 15, may take place two days earlier. The Kansans have written that they cannot play on the latter date.
The Wesleyan football boys will play the juniors on the university campus next Wednesday. The juniors hope to gain enough power in these two games to win in their coming game with the seniors.
The Catholic students of the university are to meet Saturday evening to re-organize the Newman circle. They will meet at the club rooms of the Parochial school. They urge the attendance of everyone interested.
The management of the football team has cancelled the games with the Kansas City medics which was scheduled to come off in Kansas City next Saturday. The poor condition of the team is the cause of this decision.
The tennis courts will soon be open to members of the tennis association. There is a scheme on foot to raise the standard of tennis playing, which has run down by lack of management. The chances are favorable for an interstate tournament in the spring.
The students of the preparatory school have organized a literary society for general literary and forensic training. J. D. Dosenbrach was elected president at the first meeting last week. The society will meet weekly in one of the rooms in the conservatory building.
The secretary of the debating association has received a communication from Iowa university informing him that it is impossible to form a league with Nebraska at present, as they were busily occupied in carrying on arrangements for their league with Minnesota and Chicago universities.
The many members of the class of '97 who are doing graduate work and assisting in various departments of the university, are taking steps to form a class organization. They met last Wednesday and will meet again next week to lay out plans for making graduate life more endurable.
Captain Shedd is laid up with two injured ribs as a result of the Missouri game. An examination has shown that the cartilege connecting the ribs with the back bone was torn loose. This will necessitate a complete rest for a week or ten days. It is thought that he will be in condition for the Kansas game.
