Aug. 27. '97.
Dear Lawrence.
It seems so nice to hear from you regularly now. We get a letter almost every Monday or Tuesday. Of course they are five weeks old but they tell so much of the life there.
Everyone who meets me asks about you and wants to be remembered.
Mr. [?] again today.
I will send you the Plymouth notes. Two weeks from today is rally Sunday and they hope to have the money all raised. I was intending to go on to Lena next week with Psyche and Helen, but Psyche wants to give so much something that I have concluded to stay at home and let each of the girls give $10 a piece as it would cost me $20 anyway to go. 20 is a sacrifice on my part because I wanted so much to go. I hope after this debt on the church is paid we will feel free to use our money for pleasure
