The girls write that "Jake" is dead. They mean one of the hens that act on her nest all summer and the lice got too thick on her and she yeilded up the ghost. We had almost a cloud burst here yesterday. Seba came home in it and Ella and the De Bell girls went first before it happened. Helen is using your typewriter this morning
