3 we are being treated most royally here; lodged & fed & taken on trips, all at the city’s expense! The English certainly know how to entertain! Monday:— Time to go to a meeting to hear a “warm” discussion on “Glaciology.” This afternoon there is a naval display in the harbor. Tomorrow & Wednesday, excursions; Thursday, we leave for London, Saturday for Liverpool & home! I don’t think you-all love me a bit, to talk of moving 2,000 miles away without seeing me & you have not seen me for a whole year! So there now! But the important reason, is because I am bringing you a gift which is too bulky to send anywheres, but which you will find very useful. If you go away without
