1 Darling Mother: A few mintues while waiting for the rest to appear for breakfast. I wished to write last night after returning from a dinner at the house of a women of ???? county family here. She kindly invited Mrs. Cowles and me to a quiet family dinner, as the club which was entertaining the men, failed to include us. Our hostess was a buxom woman, with ear-rings as big as marbles, a heavy necklace of Cornish diamonds, one of pearl beads, heavy brooches & rings galore, very gracious & kindly.
