office. We made quite a collection, but were not prepared to it in safe and proper form. This year we are gong to do better. ve the Holland Moth Book, and already we have a start in a new moth butterfly collection. I am sure you would be surprised to hear my boy handle those jaw-breaking scientific names. I am constantly surprised at the amount of real pleasure we have had in this work, or rather play. It has been a continuous eye-opener to me and I have seen my children developing the power of observation such as I never dreamed possible. And I feel disgusted with myself whenever I think of the vast field of beauty and interest lying open before my eyes that I never saw through all the years, and the pleasures lost from the lack of training in observation and a leader to point a path. I am beginning to think that I could easily become an enthusiast in your line of study and work, and have ceased to wonder that a live man can give his whole life to the insignificent study of bugs, and worms, and birds, and sich. I beg to remain, Yours very truly, C. W. Crum Have just sent in dues to the N. O. U. I wish you would post me on any work of special importance in these lines that comes to your notice.
