Dear Shoemaker,-

Please don't "cuss me" - I'm just buried in work -
my paper, medical college catalogue, & Amer. Mic. Soc. Proceedings plus univ.
work - and hardly know which way to turn.

Yours of Oct. 28 was very neat - but I don't think you should do it at your
own expense. As to the questions in yours of the 8th - I don't know when our
proceedings will be out - you know Barbour would have published for us this sum-
mer but Bruner got no time to put the stuff into shape, and I simply couldn't
take the time. He seems disposed to get the thing now and I shall try and
keep him stirred up. Our obligations are nearly met and even if we limit our
issue to a few things, we ought to get out something. Wish I could afford it-
I'd back you up on the $20.- proposition, but simply cannot now. I think Bar-
bour is still good for part of it anyway.

Shall get at the Eleodes probably about Thanksgiving recess - cannot see any
time before. But will take the first opportunity.

We have Horn's list here - how I would like to go over it with you! Harris
says "I shall follow him (Horn) down to the classification of our own forms, but
am going to stop there for a time, anyway. The change from the Nebraska scheme
is so radical that I have got to get accustomed to it first. At the last meeting
of the N.Y. Society I was not present, but presume the matter was discussed.
At the previous meeting Mr. Schaeffer (whom Horn told me he considered the best
coleopterist in the U.S.) was disposed to agree with Horn in his disposition of
the groups." Just got planted at Harris' box and there the matter stands.

Shall probably get up to Omaha between Thanksgiving and Christmas. How
about Thanksgiving - can you come down? Isn't this Lincoln's turn at the N.O.U.
meeting?

How I'd like to go home this evening and settle down for a good talk
with you! If Omaha weren't so far away!

With regards to all the friends at your house,
Very sincerely yours,
Robt. H. Wolcott
