My dear Shoemaker,

I have heard from Leng and
have revised some opinions accordingly and had
others confirmed. Have a lot to tell you and show you
when you come. But am very much afraid shall have
to ask you to postpone your trip a week or two. The "expected"
hasn't yet happened, and I don't want you, for your
own sake, to arrive in the midst of proceedings, with a
youngster, nurse, and all which would be involved, to in-
terfere with the enjoyment of the visit. Shall let you know,
at the earliest opportunity, when it will be "safe" -

With warm regards, Your friend
Robt. H. Wolcott
