Original caption: "Cargo Check - A Vietnamese civilian junk is searched by a Vietnamese Navy liaison officer and crewmembers of a U.S. Coast Guard cutter during a patrol in the Gulf of Thailand. The Coast Guard cutters are based at An Thoi, Phu Quoc Island and operate as units of the Coastal Surveillance Force." American Coast Guardsmen have tied a wooden civilian boat to their ship. Some Coast Guardsmen are searching the cargo of the ship while the Vietnamese sailors look on. The civilian ship is flying a South Vietnamese flag.
