Korean soldiers in cloth mask
-
Description
-
A Korean soldier holds up a cloth mask. From his uniform, he appears to be a chaplain. Two other soldiers wear similar cloth masks. One wears a shirt with Korean writing on it. Similar homemade masks were sometimes used by Vietnamese protestors and Viet Cong supporters to obscure their identity, so that if anyone was captured they would not be able to identify the rest of the group. These masks may have been used for a similar purpose.
