Description
-
Original caption: "Americal Division Hole Hunters - A well camouflaged VC hole cover is located in the 2nd Battalion 35 Infantry, Americal Division area. Local VC forces have used the holes to hide following sniper attacks to avoid discovery or contact. More than 1000 holes have been located by 3rd Bde, 4th Inf Div, in Quang Ngai. Detection and clearance is a slow, careful process requiring an interpreter to ask the enemy to surrender, grenades to clear the enemy and 'tunnel rats' who inspect the holes for weapons or VC." Several stumps of trees on the forest floor.
