the best parliamentary training of any club in the institution.

G. E. Kindler, one of its ablest orators, won first place in the finals for the intercollegiate debates over the ablest debaters which the U. of N. had produced.

The fact that Nebraska has for several years had one or more women on the interstate debates has caused the P.B.D.C. to recognize their claim for admittance into the debating clubs, and to-day several women are now enrolled among its members.

The following officers now watch over the destinies of the club: E. C. Finlay, president; Hollister, vice-president, H. C. Crouch, secretary and treasurer; Doubt, sergeant-at-arms.

The club meets every Saturday evening and invites all to attend.

CONSTITUTION.

Article I.—MEMBERSHIP.

SECTION 1. (Name)—This society shall be known as the Palladian Literary Society, and its motto shall be "Forma Mentis Aeterna est."

SEC. 2. (Active Members)—The active members of this society shall consist of those to whom the following conditions apply: 1. They shall be in actual attendance at the University. 2. They shall have been duly elected members of this society. 3. They shall not be in arrears for fines, dues, or levies. 4. They shall have at least two studies in the college of Literature, Science, and Arts or the Industrial College, of the affiliated School of Music. 5. They shall not be members of any college fraternity.

SEC. 3. (Balloting)—Candidates for membership in this society shall be elected by ballot, provided for that purpose and signed by the secretary of the Membership Committee. No candidate shall be elected against whom five adverse ballots have been cast. An advers ballot shall consist of a line drawn in ink
