Wheeler, Jr., of Omaha, offered a prize of ten dollars for the best oration, to which was added a second prize of five dollars by the society. This was the first contest of the kind in the University, and is still the only contest in oratory. This contest has become a prominent feature of the society work, and the results have been very gratifying both to the members and out side friends of the society.
