Left page:
"We imagine those months between the capture and her death. Did she maintain hope? Where there at least some later summer, Indian summer and autumn days when she could see her beloved sky?
Was Margot a comfort?
Were there young women raped by Nazi soldiers?
Was anyone kind to her?
Was she kind to others?
Did she have a pen? A pencil? Paper?
I pray she didn't suffer. But that's foolish. She suffered. She saw. She observed. The utter depravity to which humans can sink. This girl.
This precious young woman had to witness this.
And precious young people all over the world witness"
Right Page:
"this every day. As do animals, trees, the ocean, rivers, the air.
I did not sense overt religiousity among the inhabitants of the Annex. She didn't talk about rituals or ceremonies or prayers - or religious reading.
Beautiful people parish.
Beautiful spirits live.
There spirits live on.
We multiply them by listening
Truely experiencing unity of all - human, animal, plant, living and dead.
Their eyes are now our eyes.
Their tender touch, our tender touch.
Their work, our work." - Rights
