WHY AM I INVOLVED IN THE AMERICAN LOVE PROJECT?

Sarah: Given current events, it is something that needs to be talked about. There is still love here. I want to be involved in a team with creative spirit. The project is a contrast to pervasive messaging we see in our country.

Margaret: Love is strategy. We have to begin at the soul level. This project draws us out at a deeper level.

Cindy: It is life and hope giving on a nationwide level.

Kelly: We need to be reaching men and boys in our projects. It’s critical to reach boys in educational projects.

Mauricio: We lead by example. We’ll get role models from all walks of life on board.

Judy: Love is an action. It’s a process of discovery, not a quick thing. Leads students and adults through an incremental process for people who don’t have those tools in their toolboxes. Empathy and compassion are active things. How to find their own resilience. Leading students to find where their own resilience lies.

Margaret: Adults need this, it’s important to include art in adult living. Like a flower opening. A blossoming. Reaching people who may feel forgotten.

Sondra: it is easy to forget that all people do not have love in their lives. The process enriches the participants’ lives.

Adrienne: The undertone of hate in our country, and in the past four years - it has reared its ugly head. It was (kind of) hidden and now it’s become acceptable. It’s not ok to be hateful. It takes a project of this magnitude to showcase the opposite - love. How can the general public get involved? How do we heal and reverse what has happened in the last four years?
