"...the reality of life in America. LOVE and compassion are the connective tissue to repair and mend the divide. (3) LOVE takes a stand. Nationwide. And makes a statement that the Power of LOVE lives in the United States. (4) The time is now to ignite the Power of LOVE in our land. Hatred and division have had their day. LOVE will win. (5) We plant seeds of LOVE in the hearts and minds of thousands and thousands of young people across our country
SHELLEY THORNTON: The purpose of art is profound conversation. Conversation connects us to each other and our humanity. Conversations about beauty and balance, nature and color can bring joy back into our wounded hearts. When it feels like our world is splintering, conversations about love can heal.
PETER KOHLMANN: The American LOVE Project has evolved from the heartland, a grass roots effort giving our fellow Americans a voice through art.
It builds on the work of the most important people in this country – teachers.
LOVE transcends all political partisanship – which has become so hard to listen to. We have families and kids and we want them to know that there is more to life than what they are hearing – there’s LOVE, compassion, respect.
The American LOVE Project gives people from around the country an opportunity to communicate with all of us.
It will cut through the rhetoric and be a strong statement unto itself – about LOVE." - Rights
