I've given up things that give me pleasure - a glass of wine or champagne, ice cream. And still, I get fatter, more in pain. I'm beginning to see how a person could feel that they've been old for most of their life. This is the new normal and I'm not adjusting well. Dwelling on oneself becomes the order of the day in aging.
