When I was in high school,
I read Teen Magazine
cover to cover. Movie magazines
were over present to Amy B.
Pearl bought them + brought
them to Columbus. Rosal
Geraldine Simpson gave
stacks of them to us
when they were finished
with them. Here we
were— here I was—
poring over movie magazines
anything at Liz Taylor
Edded Fish, Richard
Burton, Jackie Kennedy,
Debbie Reynolds, Dan Poy,
Rock Hudson.
Why? There we all came
in a small town in Nebraska
caught up in the polished
fantasies of the lives of
celebrities!
