- Description
- The page is part of a scrapbook or journal. It includes a photograph of a tree with sunlight filtering through its leaves, placed on a dark background. Below the photograph, there is a handwritten quote by Mokekoma Mokhonoana that reads: "An orange tree would rather die than produce lemons, whereas instead of dying the average person would rather be someone they are not." Above the photograph, there is a white sticker with the text: "Plants are more courageous than almost all human beings." The right side of the page contains handwritten notes discussing the concept of "manifest" and the idea of staying true to one's role and voice, with references to historical figures like Abraham Lincoln. The handwriting is in a cursive style, and there are some smudges and stains on the paper.

Photograph caption:
Plants are more courageous than almost all human beings.
Handwritten notes:
By 'manifest', I mean stay solidly here in my role. Non-packet, leader, wife, friend. Use my voice, which at this point feels like speaking into a bomb explosively or an empty volcano. I don't hold the desire or energy for that. There is so much history of beautiful words, persuasive words lying the flaton the page. Look at the Declaration of Independence with its picture eloquence and justice, never to be enacted by the writer. Look at Abraham Lincoln. We have to be hell. - Rights
