myself. Self pity. Kelly
is smiling and kind, brings
coffee and half a bagel, an
egg, jam. I am unsmiling.
Feeling old, fat, unhealthy.

Being childless, family-less
in Texas, and still surrounded
by my family of choice - all
willing + help, I feel
alone this morning here
with Kelly + Joe cats.
