Description
The image is a two-page spread of an open journal. On the left page, handwritten text fills most of the lined paper, written in a neat cstyle. The text reflects personal experiences, emotions, and memories. The right page features more handwritten text alongside a colorful collage. The collage depicts an anatomical structure resembling a human torso with ribs and spine, combined with floral elements and a human face topped with a small hat. Below the torso are red, stylized legs in high heels. The text on the right page includes a list of family members and a recount of a story about a puppy. The pages are framed by a simple cream-colored border, with “Christian Lacroix” printed at the bottom of both pages.

Left Page:

"with empathy, with respect, through the eyes and experience of an adult.
I have this sensation, an image, of the house, drapes pulled, as they most always were with four elderly ghosts sitting, lingering, quiet, waiting - for what?
Other children made other histories... sorrows written into them... an abusive father... a cruel mother... a beloved parent dies of cancer. My childhood had felt OK, for the most part. Most importantly, I felt loved.
The great sorrow
rage
hatred."

Right Page:

"The people, the sweet dog Pudgie
me
Mom
Dad
Grandma
Grandpa
A beloved gift - a puppy. Then brutally beaten and killed by the giver - my Dad
The precious ray of light in a dark home - extinguished."
