Sept. 12, 2016
It occurred to me tonight at satsang... when I did the 29 pieces, I wanted to bring to life the words of the mystics. Now, as the first sculpture is being built, I see how joyless I feel... this hassle, that hassle... need more funding... permission from city, arguments between artists. And this needs to change. Either I don't do this or I figure out how to make it all an offering to the divine + the ideals they stand for.
- Right Page:
Welcome to the photographs.
Bear witness to the renowned + powerful, and to the nameless.
They put themselves in harms way,
By putting themselves
They've earned the right
to their opinions on war + violence. And we have
the privilege tonight to
see them and listen to them.
Walter Benjamin, "A list
more arduous to him on the
memory of the nameless
than that of the renowned." - Rights
