Description
The image shows an open book with two pages. The left page displays a color photograph of a woman in ornate traditional attire, including a richly patterned gown and a large, elaborate headdress. The photograph is framed with black tape against a textured background. Below the photo, a strip of decorative gold tape contains the caption "The Countess Fersen, born Princess Dolgoruky." The right page contains handwritten text in a casual, slightly messy script. The text is large and occupies most of the page, with wide margins.

Try humor. Humor makes anything bearable. Can you make a joke about it? Can you laugh? If you can, you've defeated it.
If I were a Labrador, a big fluffy Labrador, my person would be weepy and lamenting, "I think I need to have her put down. She's in pain. Those surgeries are so expensive,"

But then my person would weigh the decision. "She's been such a good dog. She still loves her treats.

She can still make it outside to go potty. She still looks at me with those big brown eyes."
